Oppo- My garage does not have any AC/Heat runs in it and it gets extremely humid in the summer (moisture will actually start to appear on the BRZ). Any recommendations for how to reduce it or circulate air? The garage is in the basement of the house.
Edit- wanted to add that I'd like to avoid a dehumidifier, as I've heard they can be costly to run.

I recommend getting a portable de-humidifier. They really work well

A simple exhaust fan can help a lot.

Depending on your access to a drain for your dehumidifier placement make sure you get one that you can set up a hose so you don't have to empty it regularly.

I have never used one since I live in a desert but I deal with called about them at work and I hear the portable ones work well.

look up "damp rid" I use it in our storage unit works great. they sell it in sizes of all varieties. the one I have is an off brand 5 gallon bucket It's basically the same stuff that comes in the packets that say do not eat in various toys and other products.

Not a great long term solution but works on the cheaper side. beware of craigslist dehumidifiers they are commonly low on the freon that makes them work and many can't be easily charged.

Ahh, I completely forgot to mention that I didnt want to get a dehumidifier and run it constantly, as I've heard they can be costly. Was hoping there was some other way.

I thought of that, but the only place i could mount is on the garage door, which i don't think would be easy to do.

One with or without refrigerant? I heard that they can be costly to run (at least non-portable ones).

I think i'll give this a shot for the rest of the summer, and try something more permanent next summer.

Various solutions seem to be calcium chloride, exhaust fans/fans along with other tricks, plants see these links: http://forum.grasscity.com/do-yourself/91… . http://www.ehow.com/how_8124696_de… . http://diy.stackexchange.com/questions/1187…
